Suggested Beers to try at Annex Ale Project.
Pale Ale - American
An aroma-forward Pale Ale, hopped with Citra and Mosaic varietals. It's our take on the classic North American Pale Ale, with a hoppy bouquet and a long, harmonious finish: progressive, sessionable, and full of flavour.
IPA - New England / Hazy
Featuring Cryo Mosaic, Bru-1 and Vic Secret Hops, hazy, dank, resinous, with citrus, mango, and passion fruit aromas. This double dry-hopped NE style IPA might be our best yet!
Pale Ale - American
To understand the space this beer occupies in the brewing landscape, all you have to do is walk its boundaries. Begin at the corner that values flavour above all else. Continue to the unmistakable aromas of a great IPA. Keep going until you sense the balance of a pale ale. Then arrive back where you started, and do another lap.
Blonde / Golden Ale - Other
Light and easy drinking golden ale thoughtfully dry hopped with Citra and Amarillo. Aromas of sweet orange and zesty lemon. Balanced bitterness with a quick finish.
Pilsner - Italian
Italian Pilsner
Sour - Berliner Weisse
Tart with a biscuit/bread note on the finish. The ginger greets you right up front but is subtle and complimentary to the sour notes. Not overly aggressive in its pallet. This beer is a perfect summer drink. Would pair well with cucumber, peaches, salads, and hot summer nights. Very mild aroma. Notes of lemon peel, coriander, orange, toast, ginger, lemongrass, and pineapple.
IPA - Black / Cascadian Dark Ale
Aroma forward North American black ale hopped with Vic Secret and Mosaic. Despite its dark colour, this beer has a light body and features aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and pine with a subtle roastiness.
IPA - American
West Coast style IPA. Piney with a pronounced upfront bitterness balanced by juicy citrus and melon finish
Fruit Beer
Pineapple / Blood Orange Ale
Sour - Fruited
Catharina Sour with Passionfruit, Orange & Guava.
Wheat Beer - Witbier / Blanche
Root Beer
Craft Root Beer made straight from the botanicals. Ingredients include molasses, wintergreen, liquorice root and sarsaparilla. The first product every produced by Annex.
IPA - New England / Hazy
Our social media free NEIPA release. Now on Untappd beer social media platform. Great work. Hopped with Mosaic, Cryo Citra, Strata and Eclipse.
IPA - New England / Hazy
To celebrate the culmination of an arduous brewers exam season (it's a real thing) our brewers refocused their tunnel vision out of textbooks and onto the recipe sheet.
Introducing Book Learnin' Aussie NEIPA. The brewing team spent time crunching numbers on water profile and the ideal dry hop temperatures to affect the terpenes, mercaptans, and thiols (and some other words that went right over the head of this humble newsletter copywriter). It is aggressively hopped with Ella, Enigma, Galaxy, and Vic Secret - all varieties from Oz. The aromas of stone fruit and melon just pop right out at you. Book Learnin' is a celebration of higher education in action.
Sour - Fruited
Named with conspicuous accuracy, and out of respect for the scientific process, we proudly present: Genus Prunus a Stone Fruit Kettle Sour. Coming in at 6.1% and loaded with over 600 pounds of peaches, plums and apricots in every batch. It's beautifully tart with a pronounced fruit jam aroma.
IPA - Black / Cascadian Dark Ale
We invited our friends at Sea Change down to brew a collab that commemorates our feelings about Valentines; a cold black IPA cut from the same cloth as our hearts. This Black IPA is citrus and pine forward, black in colour but not too roasted. It is all about balance and collaboration with a ridiculous aroma thanks to a dry hop done at a cold temperature.
IPA - Triple
Made in collaboration with 2 Crows Brewing Co. Melon, Pineapple, Guava
Sour - Fruited
Cranberry Blood Orange Kettle Sour
Brewed on International Women's Day, eaxh swig of Non-Compliant is a pleasantly acidic bath for your taste buds and nothing lime the acrid taste of being told to smile more. Brewed for those evolved enough to see femininity in all forms as palatable.
A portion of this release's profits will be donated to the Lead YYC program at the Calgary Women's Centre.
Farmhouse Ale - Saison
Aged for 6 months in one of our Foeders and bottle conditioned for 2 more, this beer features notes of fortified wine, port, pinot noir, oak, black cherry and black raspberry.
IPA - Imperial / Double
A bear of a beer in a wee cub of a can. Released in constellation with Big Sipper, this brew is made for sippin’. Like his bigger, gentler bro, it’s a West Coast IPA brewed with Cryo Citra, Cryo Mosaic, and Bru-1, but unlike with Big Sipper, we didn’t declaw this Ursa.
Sour - Fruited
Kettle sour with tangerine, raspberry, and lactose.
California Common
Copper colour with toasty, caramel, and bready notes. Brewed using only Alberta Malt, with a portion of the revenue going to the Calgary Zoological Foundation.
