Suggested Beers to try at Ol' Beautiful Brewing Co. (New Taproom in Beltline).
Lager - Pale
Mexican Lager
Brown Ale - American
A dynamic and complex Brown Ale that demonstrates the wide range of flavours that can be achieved using roasted and specialty malts. Expect layers of caramel, bread, biscuit, nuttiness, toffee, and coffee to mingle and emerge as the beer warms. The malt profile is supported by a light residual sweetness that brings fullness to the palate.
Wheat Beer - Other
A classic American-style Wheat Ale. Its light malt and light hop profile make this beer incredibly approachable. Subtle fruit character is produced by the yeast, while the inclusion of wheat in the grain bill contributes additional texture to the mouth-feel.
Cider - Traditional / Apfelwein
A dry, apple-based, gluten-free cider that uses fruit straight out of BC orchards. All juice is fresh pressed and pasteurized (not from concentrate), resulting in a brilliant depth of flavor.
Stout - Other
Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout
Sour - Traditional Gose
Margarita Gose
IPA - Session
Grapefruit Session Ale
Pilsner - Czech / Bohemian
Lager - Amber / Red
Amber chai lager
IPA - English
An exploration of how terroir affects flavour in beer. Much like in wine, growing the same fundamental ingredients throughout different regions of the world will yield wildly different results. Cadence features exclusively English malts, hops, and yeast. The resulting beer is slightly sweeter than its American counterpart (Melody), with upfront herbaceous, floral, grassy hop flavours.
Specialty Grain
A collaboration beer between Ol’ Beautiful and Shokunin (Japanese restaurant in Mission). Contains a large portion of rice, which gives it a unique, silky mouthfeel. The most noteworthy part of this beer is the inclusion of SakeKasu, the rice leftover from Sake production, which contributes a boozy, creamy, uptown funk to the beer’s finish. Another approachable easy drinker that pairs very well with Japanese cuisine.
Pale Ale - American
A dry hopped American-style Pale Ale that showcases fresh and aromatic Simcoe, Amarillo, and Cascade hops. Expect an upfront citrus aroma and flavour, which gives way to its resinous, floral undertones. A noticeable malt sweetness adds body to the beer and brings balance the beer’s hop-forward character.
Blonde / Golden Ale - Other
An easy going blonde ale coupled with organic blood orange puree. A beer that combines a crisp blonde base hopped with Mandarina and a healthy dose orange juice tartness. Perfect for long patio sessions or morning brunch.
IPA - American
The quintessential, classic hop forward IPA that all craft beer lovers seek out. Expect flavours of grapefruit, melon, and apricot from the hops, while a subtle toffee-like sweetness from the malt supports the astringent bitterness typical of the style. This is a beer for all IPA lovers and those who cherish the beautiful qualities of hops.
Stout - Other
A robust stout infused with cocoa nibs and vanilla beans. The use of a Belgian Abbey yeast contributes dark stone fruit esters, while a combination of roasted and specialty malts give the beer a jet-black appearance, a tightly knit head, and layers of decadent chocolate, coffee, and caramel flavours.
Lager - Dark
A refreshing dark lager with subtle tones of dark chocolate and toasted caramel, boasting a roasty aroma with a clean lager crispness. Whether paired with a hearty winter meal or a mid summer garden party, this classic caters to any beer drinker.
